Indoor Public Art Gallery Call for Artists

Artists can submit their existing works for sale in the Ward Roney Jr. VFW Post 7511 VAC’s new gallery in downtown Monroe, with proceeds supporting veterans and the community. The gallery welcomes various art types related to Monroe’s history, veterans, or patriotism.

Call for Artists:

The Ward Roney Jr. VFW Post 7511 VAC is seeking artists to contribute their existing artworks to its new public art gallery in Monroe. Selected art will be available for sale, and artists are encouraged to price their work.

Art Eligibility:​

The gallery is open to two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks, including paintings, photography, sculptures, and more. The art should be suitable for public viewing, and there is no specific theme, but it should reflect Monroe’s history, veterans, or patriotism.

Commitment & Deadline:

Artists agree to display their artwork in the gallery from August 4, 2024 through February 1, 2025, with possible extensions. Veteran status is not required for participation. The application deadline for artists is Friday, July 19, 2024.

Monroe's New Art Gallery

The recently funded art gallery in Monroe aims to become a dynamic part of the downtown scene, offering a space for both veteran and non-veteran artists to display their creative works. The Veterans Art Center (VAC) has announced its first Call for Artists, actively encouraging artists with existing pieces to participate. A wide range of artistic mediums, from paintings and photography to sculpture and woodworking, are eligible for submission, making this gallery a vibrant platform for artistic expression.

Quality and Professionalism Matters

The VAC carefully evaluates submissions based on the quality and professionalism of the artworks, ensuring the highest standards are met.

Alignment with VAC Vision

Artists’ submissions should embody the VAC’s vision as outlined in the summary and vision statement, reflecting the organization’s values and mission.

Multiple Artworks Welcome

Artists are encouraged to submit multiple pieces, and the VAC may select several works from a single artist if they meet the criteria.

VAC's Discretion in Art Selection

The VAC retains full authority to select or reject artworks for any reason, and reserves the right to repost the call for artists if needed, without guaranteeing inclusion for veterans.

Celebrating Veterans and Art WE OFFER

VFW Post 7511 and Auxiliary champion the healing power of art, recognizing its ability to enrich lives, foster hope, and aid veterans in their recovery. They also welcome non-veteran artists to join in honoring those who served through artistic expressions.
